The Doctor, finished studying the casing, decided to put it in his pocket as a memento. "It wasn't a complaint," he said. "Merely an observation." He looked in the direction in which Beth and the Dalek had disappeared. "Knowing Beth, she'd probably enjoy the rain. As for the Dalek, why would it complain?"

Nodding Lev sat down.
"True" she mumbled before also turning to face where Beth and Dalek had gone "wonder what's taking so long"

It wasn't really that long, but he could understand Lev's frustration. Bit like waiting for a bus, he thought. To help pass the time, he examined some fungi on a tree that had fallen some time in the past. It was poisonous to humans, but not fatal, just causing severe stomach cramps. It made you feel you were dying. It did have some medicinal properties when prepared properly, however. Certain species of ant used it to feed their larvae too. He chuckled to himself. It was his being able to come up with facts like those that made him virtually unbeatable at games like Trivial Pursuit. That's why he didn't play board games like that. Gets boring pretty quickly if you won all the time.

Beth put some of the wood pieces she gathered from under a bush into the Dalek's bucket. "Ach, I wonder if in the times when peoople actually had to do this, they found time for other things - I mean, we can call ourselfs lucky, actually to have such a large ammount of woods, but what is it about with all the ancient people who lived in deserts or wastelands or so?... Anyway... I think that's enough..." She smirked a little at the Dalek then smoothened her scarf and turned around in direction of the way back to the camp.
For some seconds she silently looked around the trees and bushes, and listened to the sounds of nature... She didn't trust that place... "Well - I guess some of our people will already be hungry, so we should hurry up, my dear..."

The Dalek looked up to the raining clouds and felt the rain on his doom. The others would be very happy and beside they had something to eat, the fire would also be warm. Some kind of win-win situation. Thought the Dalek, or would have though if it would know what a win-win situation means.
„If they are hungry, they will be very happy about all the wood we found.“ the Dalek said proud. It also looked around but didn't find anything suspect. It trusted its Daleksences after all, they were made for fast find and kill.
„Do you know the way to the camp was?“ it asked Beth a little frighten, after it somehow didn't real remember the way back.

"Yes, I know the way." Beth answered cheerful, while looking up into the skies. That was rain. Quite wet, indeed. Beth shrugged - She didn't really care about it, neither felt she a need to complain about it, for Beth was someone who in fact never complained about anything, rather tried to find a solution. She pointed into a special direction. "There it is... By the way - Humans usually do not eat wood. I've read it tastes awful, but they use it to make fire with it to roast things to eat, like animals."

„So that's the reason why we need wood?“ The Dalek though thoughtful while it hovered in the direction Beth pointed. „But we don't have animals, what do they want roast?“ the Dalek asked very curious. It wasn't real able to imagine how humans roast and eat stuff and thought about this that it was very fascinating.
It also didn't care about the rain. Daleks doesn't oxidize and so it was perfect safe for it also in this weather. „Maybe people didn't live in regions like Wastelands – that would enplane the strange name of this places.“ the Dalek said, got to a decision about what Beth had said some Minutes ago.
It looked around. It didn't real realized the place the went but that very probably was the reason of the rain, gave all thinks a... wetter look.
It reached in Beth direction with its plunger. „I real dislike this place.“ it said finally a little scarred.

"Oh pants," the Doctor muttered, when he felt the first few drops. Should have kept his big mouth shut. He made his way back to his tent. He had no intention of catching pneumonia. Maybe some of his previous incarnations didn't mind getting soaked, but it wasn't for him. Perhaps he was getting a bit too long in the tooth for this lark...Not that he could ever settle down. A pipe, slippers, warm roaring fire. Nice ideas, but not for him. Not really.

Lev rooled her eyes.
Honestly, she mused ot herself, some people can be so strange sometimes. Especialy Time Lords. It was only a little but of rain. She found it hard ot belive the guy faught evil aliens but the moment it rained he ran for cover.
It wasn't raining hard, the odd drip or two. That didn't bother her nor kept her from adding a few more sticks to the fire. Compeared to one of the many guide camps she'd been on- it was a sunny day. She could hear the sound of Dalek's travel unt aporching and shortly followed by Beth and it's voice. She smilled. Breakfast anf food would soon be ready to cook when the sticks the duo had colected was added. Turning back to the Time Lord she grinned
"See Doctor, that's why camping you never say the R word" with that said Lev laughed

Beth raised an eyebrow. Was the Dalek really affraid? Surprised she cleared her throat and rubbed her chin with one hand. "Well... I can understand that you dislike this place for it's... Strange... Nevertheless there is nothing more intelligent than us, so we're in no real danger - Apart from drowning in the rain, or falling into an earth-hole, or getting smashed by a tree... Allright... Maybe we should be careful in case nature's attacking us, but I highly doubt that."
With an evil grin she activated her laser screwdriver pointing into the direction of where to go. It wasn't a good sign if a creature which usually should not worry at all, now started to do so without porper reason, so Beth kept an eye on the Dalek even more than before... "We're out of any civilization, ergo completely safe from real threats. Follow me, my dear..."
She started walking back through the dark path while getting all wet. So much for 'I'll promise, weather will be fine'... she thought by herself. The muddy, wet ground accaused weird smacking noises with every step she did.

The Doctor mentally yelled abuse at the sky, while outwardly appearing completely composed, when the expected precipitation didn't occur. "Quite," he said in response to Lev's comment. He stuck his hands in his pockets and attempted to cheer himself up by humming.

Lev grinned as the heavens finally opend up. HEaring the Doctor humming, she decided to do the same.
"oh we aint gonna camp no more, no more, we aint gonna camp no more we camped last year and the year before but we aint gonna camp no more" once sung she returned to humming the tune, for although familliar with it the words always escaped her
[NRPG: yes that's a proper guide song Lev is singing. But it lies -_-. Everyone always say they're not going on another guide camp and then what happens? Next year they return lol]

Okay, I didn't actually expect you to do that. He thought. He almost flinched when a flash of lightning split the sky. Another brought down a tall tree crashing down. Then came the ominous rumbling of thunder. Now a shower or two I can understand, but a thunderstorm? Here? That's not right. The Doctor furrowed his brow, aiming his sonic screwdriver at the sky. Checking the readings, his frown deepened. "Somebody's messing around the local weather system. But why?"

"huh wha?" Lev's eyes widend slightly as the Doctor's voice broke her out of her song "messing with the weather...how dare they. Any ideas who it is and do you think we should go in search of Beth and Dalek?"

The Doctor shrugged. "I can't think of anyone. Altering the weather systems of an inhabited planet I can understand, but not here." As another flash of lightning briefly lit everything in stark relief, he added, "Beth and the Dalek should be back soon. I think we're safer staying here."

While Beth rubbed her wet hair out of her sight she took a deep, grumpy breath. "I bet wet wood doesn't burn at all..."
She walked through the dark parth, back the way she remembered until she suddenly stopped at a little glade. A sound catched her attention - At first she thought it was a roaring starship, but when she saw none at the skies, she remembered something...
"Take a careful look at the skies my dear." She began - Almost with a ostentatious tone in her voice...
Some lightnings appeared and faded within the same second, followed by a loud thunder. "Look and admire - The true beauty of disfunctional weather control systems, my dear! This is called a thunderstorm." For some seconds she was unable to take off her eyes from the skies, just enjoying what she saw, not even caring of how wet she got, or that the Dalek was not in her field of vision.
"...Technically these are electrical discharges accaused by meeting air films with different temperature - Long story here, but fact is, that what you see there is actually, what you do with your blaster - Only on a larger scale."
Grinning she crossed her arms and listened to the sound of the thunder carefully, while still staring at the skies as if she was hypnotized by it's abstract beauty.
"...Aint that one of the most beautiful things you have ever seen, Dalek?"

The Dalek looked scared at the sky. „The same stuff like... my blaster?“ it said. That was very probably one reason why the Dalek wasn't able to enjoy this, more or less, natural event. All this remembered it to much in war. War... it remembered as if it was the day before, how it killed it's supreme to save Beth. It never though it was a failure, but it of course, didn't enjoy to be a traitor to its own race.
It of course, ignored all that facts very well in daily live and tried do live some sort of happy live, in last times more and more successful. After all it had Beth who was sill more important to it than everything in the Dalek empire.
But in moments like this it looked up in the skys and saw it's Supreme die from his blaster. That was so much... undalekish. That somehow made it happy but scared it in the other way. The lightning brought back memories it long though they were exterminated or at least repressed.
It looked at Beth. „I hate this place.“ it decided to say and glomped a little closer at Beth. „And I hate lightnings!“

Looking surprised she nevertheless slowly nodded. "Copied. We maybe then should search for a place to stay until it's over. I saw some rock interstices at the foot of the little mountain near the dark path when we arrived - Maybe this will be a more comfortable place for you to wait until it's over?"
She grabbed for the Daleks manipulator arm and pulled it into the direction of the rock interstices. They weren't exactly comfortable for Beth, but if it meant to prevent the Dalek becoming too nervous it was allright for her too.
"Here we are... But remember - Only until the thunderstorm is over - Otherwise the Doctor will send some sort of a search party or so - The last thing I want to be called is 'The one who got astray' !..."

"Yes I also think is better we wait here." the Dalek said looking at the sky. '"I think this is much saver than the woods." it said looking still around. This were real big rocks. And it somehow was a place good to hide. Perfect for situations like this. Beth had a real good idea going at this place. After all it also didn't see so much of the lightning and so it was able to repress its bad thoughts again. The Dalek looked around more careful. "Look Beth, a cave, I think we will be more save inside it.." it said and hovered in the direction of a small hole just big enought for a dalek, it, thanks to it's supreme dalek sences was able to identify as the entering to into cave.

[NRPG : It takes supreme Dalek sennses to make out the entrance of a cave?! LOLZ Warning : Sry bout my stupid humour today - First Space island One and now Star Trek..... o.O]
Beth followed the Dalek into the cave. "Why is it always caves? I really wonder... In this specific situations seem to be certain calculable patterns like... Losing contact with the ship, finding the cave with the secret entry to a Romulan base, having two Redshirts getting killed by the guards, destroying the Romulans' energy source, and having a man-to-man fignt with their commander... Well, three more points waiting for us..."
Cynical she grinned at the Dalek, leaning against one of the walls while catching a glimpse on something smooth, round with the corner of her eye. She took a closer look, recognizing two humanois skeletons - And if she wasn't wrong they even were wearing red... "...TWO more points..."
She shed off her coat and her scarf, hanging them on one of the random rocks to (hopefully) dry until the thunderstorm was over, then sat down on the floor.
"Well then... maybe we should focus on more positive things than the old scenarios... I don't know too much about you at all..." She began, trying to look edifying into the direction of the Dalek.
"When reading about the creation and development of the Daleks, the databanks seem to have nothing to say about your home planet... What does Skaro look like?..." She began thoughtful, and hoped for the thunderstorn to stop as soon as possible...
